Digital Programmes
Learn more about our Digital Programmes
Digital systems are the foundation upon which we will build a modern, efficient and responsive health service. GP IT systems sit at the heart of primary care technology facilitating and recording millions of interactions with patients every week.
As a GP Federation, we have a clinically led digital programme of work to ensure our member practices realise the benefits of technological innovations. At the heart of this are two key drivers:
- To improve the experience & quality of healthcare services to our patients
- To make life easier for our staff – by ensuring access to the right information at the right time and by releasing time for care through time saving solutions
Current Digital Projects:
Improving the communication process between clinicians & patients
We are deploying an intuitive text messaging solution across our practices through standardisation of content & support + training. The solution is called ChainSMS by AccuRx and is used to inform patients of their results and support call and recall for long term conditions.
Ensuring we have the right population level data to describe the needs of our population
We are developing our business intelligence capability through analytical resource & by working with local system partners in piloting a Population Health platform called HealthEIntent. This enables us to better understand the health inequalities that exist within our population and track the impact particular interventions make on the health and wellbeing outcomes of our population.
Improving patient access to our practices
We are supporting our practices in developing & promoting online methods to get in contact with their surgery. These include Practice GP Websites, the NHS App and Video Consultations.
Supporting our staff to work remotely
With London Estates costs being so high and the growth of a workforce that works across sites it’s ever more important they are equipped with the right technology to enable to them to work from any site. We are trialling remote working solutions for our staff which includes docking laptops, secure cloud based file stores and Voice over IP phone solutions.
We are also scoping solutions for clinical decision support aids and telehealth/telecare solutions. If you are a technology company that would like to work with us to pilot these in our area then please get in touch.
