What a PPG Is

A Patient Participation Group (PPG) gives patients the chance to have a say in the healthcare services they use.

Our PCN PPG brings together patients from across Central Camden to share their experiences, give feedback, and help us understand what matters most to the people we support. It's a space where patients and healthcare staff can have open conversations and work together to improve services for the local community.

You don't need any special knowledge or experience to join. If you care about local healthcare and want to make a positive difference, we'd love to hear from you.

What to expect from it?

The PPG is about listening, learning, and working together.

As a member, you can expect to:

• Hear about new projects and developments across the PCN.
• Share your views and experiences.
• Talk about what's working well and what could be improved.
• Help shape future services and priorities.
• Meet other local people who are interested in improving healthcare in Camden.

You can get involved as much or as little as you're able to. Every contribution is valued.

What it will not be?

The PPG is not a place to discuss individual medical issues, appointments, or complaints.

While we welcome feedback about services and patient experiences, we won't be able to deal with personal healthcare concerns or investigate specific cases. These should be raised directly with your GP practice through the appropriate channels.

Questions or concerns about appointment availability, booking systems, access to clinicians, or other issues affecting a specific GP practice should be raised with that practice's own Patient Participation Group (PPG), where available. The PCN PPG focuses on broader issues and opportunities to improve services across Central Camden, rather than matters relating to individual practices.

The group is focused on improving services for the wider community rather than resolving individual issues.

How does it differ from a practice PPG?

Many GP practices have their own PPG, which focuses on issues affecting patients at that particular practice.

Our PCN PPG looks at healthcare across all the practices that make up Central Camden Primary Care Network. Rather than focusing on one surgery, we look at bigger themes, shared challenges, and opportunities to improve services for patients across the whole area.

In short, a practice PPG focuses on one practice, while the PCN PPG focuses on the wider community. Both are important, and together they help make sure patient voices are heard at every level.
