What is the Enhanced Access Service?
Enhanced Access services in Central Camden PCN provide extra primary care appointments outside normal surgery hours, including evenings and Saturdays. Appointments are delivered by local GP practices working together and may be with GPs, nurses, pharmacists or other clinicians. All appointments are pre-booked, and eligible patients will be contacted and offered an appointment when available.

What are Long-Term Conditions Checks?
The Long-Term Conditions check, delivered through Enhanced Access, offers Saturday appointments for patients living with one or more long-term health conditions. The clinic provides a convenient way to access routine health checks, personalised support and practical advice, helping patients stay well and manage their health around other commitments.

Who is the clinic for?
The Long-Term Conditions check is suitable for patients living with long-term conditions, including:
- Asthma
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Diabetes
- High blood pressure
Appointments focus on routine monitoring, early identification of issues and supporting long-term wellbeing.
What can I expect at my appointment?
During a Long-Term Conditions check, patients may receive:
- Quick health checks, such as blood pressure, blood tests and body mass index (BMI)
- A personalised health plan, developed together with a clinician
- Advice and signposting to local services and support
The aim is to help patients understand their health, address any concerns early and plan next steps where needed.
Why attend a Long-Term Conditions check?
Attending the clinic can offer:
- Convenient weekend appointments,
- making care easier to fit into daily life
- Access to a multidisciplinary clinical team, including GPs, nurses, pharmacists and physician associates
- Support to spot problems early and stay healthier for longer
How are appointments booked?
Patients do not need to book directly. Eligible patients will be contacted by the Central Camden PCN team to arrange an appointment. A confirmation message and reminder will be sent before the appointment. If you have questions about your long-term condition or think you may benefit from this clinic, please speak to your GP practice.
Additional information about Saturday appointments
In addition to Long-Term Conditions checks, other clinics may also take place during Enhanced Access Saturday sessions, including appointments such as:
- Asthma
- Microsuction
- Health checks
- Hypertension reviews
- Cervical screening (smear tests)
When these services are available on a Saturday, eligible patients will be contacted directly by the Central Camden PCN team and offered a Saturday appointment.
The contract for the extended service has been awarded Camden Health Partners (CHP) with the service due to start 1st July 2026. There will be continued provision of the service with the current provider, continuing to deliver until 30th June 2026 so there will be no gap in the service.
There will be no reduction in appointments or changes in ways that you access appointments as a result of this process.
You will continue to be able to access evening, weekend or bank holiday appointments by:
- Calling or visiting your GP practice during opening hours, 8am tp 6.30pm, Monday to Friday
- Calling 0207 428 5730 between 12pm to 8pm Monday to Friday; 8am to 8pm Saturdays, Sundays, and bank holidays
- The service will be delivered from two hubs: Brondesbury Medical Centre (Monday to Saturday) and Regents Park Practice (Monday to Sunday)
